10/30/2021 Saturday (part 2) Lesley's Ka'ena Update

This morning Marilyn, Diane and I went out together to monitor the park. It was the most perfect whale watching day, alas we didn't see any.
We documented 3 seals: R330 Squinty who overnighted at his molting spot. His molt is +80%. Later in the day we saw him again in a new location. It seemed that he'd gotten rid of a big patch of molt we had seen on his back.

Further in the park we saw RW02 PVKauai on his favorite reef island and RO40 Ka'ena down on the waterline of the beach where he possibly overnighted (due to fresh wallow and scat).
Last we saw R407 Kawika resting on a nice sandy beach.
We checked some of the WTSH chicks and observed a flock of Bulbuls fly in circles around the point.  More soon🌺'
