Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 10:55 to 12:55 and there were two seals on island today. Initially there were the two were close together between 3BS and SRI. A/M, adult size, old coat, dark male belly, and unsure about tags. There may have been a partial CC scar on chin area. He entered the water about 11 and hauled out on the rocks at LPB at about 11:22 where he stayed the rest of her viewing session. There was a J/M, juvenile to subadult size, newer coat, light male belly and two tags. There may be a dark patch on his left ventral neck area.
Team R&B started their day at the bay. They spotted seals further out and waited for them to come closer in. Eventually they did, and Lei Ola RH48 was the first to be ID'd. Once again she was in the company of R3CX Nalu seen foraging. Later in the afternoon Lei Ola would land on the rocks, she is looking big and beautiful. Nalu never hauled out during their watch.
At another west side location they found RH76 Kala. She is back and looking healthy. She was alone resting on the rocks.
From a distance Team R&B could see two seals at tracks. They headed over to check and get their IDs. Well lo and behold the bosom buddies have been reunited. There was RN14 Kalani and RH32 Kaale on shore. Thankfully someone had put a sign up for them. Kaale continues his molt.
At another popular west side beach they saw a large female with a left for flipper visible. IT's ROCKY!! There was a nice zone put out for her by the lifeguard. The beach was crowded and when it got too crazy the lifeguard reminded people to stay away on the mega phone! Mahalo for caring.
A final stop back at the bay, they saw two seals foraging near the jetty. One was Nalu still going at it, the other seal had a new coat and tags. They just couldn't be sure to make an ID. But they suspect it could be RL20 who they hadn't seen all day.
