12/31/2022 Saturday's Dailies and a close to 2022

Here we go again, it's the end of another year, good riddens 2022 and ALOHA 2023.  Also want to wish our beloved DB a happy heavenly birthday 🎂!  We all miss you!

Today Team R&B💕 had an appointment today so they made some quick checks and didn't find any seals. They did however see the whales, a pod of dolphins and many sharks.

They stopped at a west side location and was thrilled to find three seals close together. There was a little arguing and mostly snoozing.  They ID'd the seal on the left as RM31 Kai, middle critter was R70 Leina, and to the right was RG28 Lefty.
They also watched one seal in the water off the rocks. He was foraging doing 7 minute dives. They were able to ID RW02 PvKauai.

12/30/2022 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Melody and Team R&B💕. It appears they crossed paths at one point in the day. The more the merrier!

Melody was with her friend Diana and decided to end the year on a nice seal note. They did some beach sleuthing to look for seals. Initially they weren't having much luck, so they decided to take the Kaena West Trek.
They has been in touch with Team R&B to update them on where
they had been and where they were heading.  A little ways into the trek they asked some folks if they had seen any seals, and the folks were all to happy to let them know there were two in the park.  Off they went and about a mile or so they came across P30 Puka. His white belly lit up the rocks like a neon sign. He wasn't too forthcoming with a tag shot, but finally did flash it long enough to get one shot.
They continued further along the trail and Diana spotted RO40 Kaena snoozing in the tidepools.
After finding Kaena they headed back to the car.
Heading home they got word that Aukai was at a beach on their way, so they stopped. They only stayed for a minute, she was in a SRA and snoozing away. The girl is looking big.

Team R&B headed out and the waves were huge at electric beach, and there were still people out there snorkeling. The dolphins were out.  They saw Nalu R3CX haul up on shore same spot as previous days, but higher up. Of course the people came, a dog showed up and Nalu began to roll to the water. That was his cue to leave and he did.
They stuck around, waited and Nalu came right back, landed higher up by a woman sleeping on shore. The dog came back began barking at the seal.  Other people were showing up and Nalu just stayed. They called the hotline.

Next they headed over to secrets to find RN14 Kalani all the way up by the bushes. Someone had put
out five signs with ropes (wasn't them) but it was good to see someone took the time. They called the hotline. At 10:55 a second seal passed by heading to paradise cove, but they couldn't be sure who it was.
Volunteer left to see if the seal arrived at paradise cove and Team R&B stayed with RN14 until noon. They headed over to the cove and sure enough there was Aukai Rl2 on shore. Signs were up and volunteer on site.

Heading over to another west side location they were thrilled to find three seals.  There was RW02 near playboy pond, with RG28 next to him in the middle. Then there was
RM31 fast asleep to the side of Lefty.

Team R&B made the hike out to Kaena West and found lots of folks leaving. (It was getting on in the day). They came across Kaena and Puka just as Melody did earlier.   They also spent the time and watched the whales as well as catching a beautiful sunset to share!

12/29/2022 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

Their first sighting came after waiting at electric beach. While waiting they saw whales, sharks, dolphins and a car parked on shore at tracks.
Then Nalu R3CX hauled in and all the folks on shore gathered and got too close. While they were calling it into the hotline Nalu left.  But the silly seal hauled back up on shore again even with all the people.

Next stop they arrived to find a seal way up by the Naupaka. It was RN14 Kalanai alone with folks just walking right by. They hurried over and placed the signs. They called the hotline and waited. They spent time educating lots of people.

As they were talking with folks a second seal arrived. It was RH32 Kaale, and all the people were excited to see him haul in. It was at that time a volunteer arrived. The volunteer started to place the signs she brought and removed the ones Team R&B put up. As Team R&B were leaving a tourist asked them if the woman didn't like their signs?  LOL

Team R&B then went to another west side location and initially didn't see any seals. They walked around for a bit and found three.
RH76 Kala was a big surprise, she was all the way inland hiding in the rocks.  She is also looking quite large.
Then they founf RM31 Kai way up on high rocks.  And once again they found RW02 way up in Benny's playboy pond.
