Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 2:02 to 3:06 pm and there were two seals seen during that time. 

Between 3BS and SRI were two seals near each other:

Sub-adult Female: small sub-adult size, older coat with fairly green female belly and two red tags.

She was near an Adult Female: adult size, tan female belly, scar on lower neck/upper chest and two red tags. Marilyn believes this is the same A/F she reported yesterday.  There were fresh tracks to/from the dunes that were probably made by the A/F.

Team R&B started at the outfall where they spotted two seal foraging in a small bait ball. They ID'd RL08 by his cyst that was visible and his one tag. They were not sure about the other seal with scars on its back. They thought maybe it was RL12 Aukai.

While watching the seals foraging, they spotted an adult male hauled out at electric beach.  They took photos from afar. There were lots of people out by the beach so they called the hotline. A volunteer put out signs but the seal left the area. They reported the seal as an Unknown Male, which they think it could be RH32 Kaale.

They checked Kahe and saw a seal on the rocks. They ID'd RL20 Kalua looking fat and relaxed. While checking him out they watched the dolphins putting on a show.

Team R&B took the ride out to nimitz and found R407 on Kermit's Reef. He was not alone, there was a tiny young seal near him. The little one had two tags RT62/T63, but they were not familiar with the numbers. So they checked in with the posse and found out this is RJ30 Wailea's pup born on Moku Nui in June of 2024. 

She moved and turned around dove into the water and in the cave. They lost site of her so they were going to head out.  As they were leaving there was the little one on the opposite side hauled way up. Team R&B were thrilled to see this little one, in that they are use to seeing the big boys and gals. RT62 settled in and made herself comfortable.

November 19, 2024 Tuesday's Dailies

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 3:02 to 4:03 om and there was only one seal seen during that time.

Between 3BS and SRI was an Adult Female: adult size, at least one red tag and mottled gray female belly.

Earlier in the morning Marilyn was out and once again spotted weaner RT62 Ka'iwa. She was hauled out when Marilyn arrived, then she

moved up into the leaves and went into snooze mode. She was ID'd by her small weaner size, applied N22 bleach, T62/63 tags and tannish brown female belly.

Team R&B arrived at rest camp and spotted R3CX Nalu and RH48 Lei Ola further out. Both stayed away from the other two seals as well as a couple of sharks in the area.

Team R&B noted that when the sharks are in the seals go further out and so do the dolphins. 

They tried to get photos of the sharks passing by while the seals were further out.

Also out there today were RL20 Kalua and RM31 Kai. The two of them put on a show for all to see. They noted that RL20 seems to chase RM31 all the time.  At first they spotted them hugging and then it turned into a chase and fight, splashing all over the place.

Team R&B had checked several other areas and didn't see any other seals until late in the afternoon. They spotted a seal from afar at tracks. It appears to be a male, new coat, they thought it might be RH32 Kaale. They didn't go to the site to get a closer look mostly because of traffic at that time of day.

November 18, 2024 Monday's Dailies

While Marilyn was out this afternoon she went to see if RT62 was around. Sure enough the weaner was hauled out making herself comfortable in the pile of leaves. She was ID'd by her weaner size, older coat, tan female belly and RT62 tag.  Seems she is leaving in the evening and hauling back out the next morning.  Gamma Gayle and crew are providing most of the monitoring so we know she is in good hands.

Team R&B started their day at rest-camp. They saw four jet skis were out on the water, most likely part

of the movie set being filmed in the area. There were multiple seals out as well, the seals would pass the jet skis and then dive down.

RH48 Lei Ola was spotted. She was foraging going in and out of the area.

Then there was RL20 Kalua once again being vocal. He was foraging fast and furious.

The beast as they call him R3CX Nalu was out and about. He was busy chasing and eating plenty of fish. When he wasn't eating he was busy chasing RH48 Lei Ola.

Next stop was at the cliffs where they found RM31 Kai. He was alone on the rocks resting.  They also found RL42 Leia, same site but away from RM31.  She was in the same spot as yesterday alone and doing okay. 

Lastly they made a stop at pokau. Finally two seals had hauled out. It was Nalu R3CX and RL20 Kalua, both resting about just 12 feet apart.
