October 8, 2025 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:55 to 3:33 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
On LPB initially alone was molting RQ44 Mahina: small adult size,  (even though she is less than 3 1/2 years old) about 99% molted, new coat light gray female belly and three tags.
Weaner Unknown: weaner or juvenile size, two red tags, lighter ventral, not sure about sex.
Later RQ44 moved near the Unknown Weaner.
Between 3BS and SRI was an Unknown Unknown: apparently dark dorsal and lighter ventral, two red tags, no info on size or sex. Marilyn commented she wanted to call this seal the "blob".
Near SRI were three seals:
Unknown Adult: small adult size, old coat with lots of green and at least one red tag. This is probably yesterday's adult male #2. Marilyn never saw its ventral today.
Juvenile Male: larger juvenile size, new coat, light gray male belly and two red tags.
Adult Male: adult size, older coat, male belly and two red tags.

Marilyn got word from Gamma Gayle that RT62 Ka'iwa was in the neighborhood.  Marilyn went to check in and found RT62 (RJ30 Wailea's 2024 Moku Nui pup) on the rock flats. She is small juvenile size, very green female belly, T62 & T63 tags. She appears to have started her molt which is about 15%. She has a scar on her right shoulder which she did not have the last time Marilyn saw her.

Team R&B started their day at Pokai. They found Miss Kala RH76 at her zen pond. She was alone today snoozing peacefully.
While watching over her their Boobie Buddy was hanging out at his spot.  Then a fisher came by and now Boobie Buddy has a fisherman buddy. He tossed him some fish in which buddy gobbled up.

Today the couple Lei Ola RH48 and Nalu R3CX were together again but by the jetty. They had guests stop close to the jetty in a nice boat.  The family on board were very excited. The boat anchored and folks got into the water for a swim by the jetty.

This morning they spotted three seals by the outfall area and beyond. They were all foraging. Team R&B was able to ID RL08 and RH32 Kaale. They couldn't get anything on the third seal so it was reported as an Unknown Adult with a clean coat.

April 7, 2025 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:20 to 2:40 pm and there was only one seal seen during that time.
Almost directly down from the 1BS on the waterline was an Adult Female: adult size, golden female belly often covered with sand, two red tags and possible a scar on the upper chest/lower neck. Marilyn believes this is the same A/F she has been reporting over the past several weeks.

Team R&B started at pokai and there were no seals on the rocks. So they knew they had to look out to
the water and sure enough there was a seal foraging. It was an adult with at least one tag. The seal was closer to rest camp side and then moved out to open ocean. They reported the seal as an Unknown Adult.

They headed to kahe were the brothers were on the rocks resting together. Team R&B aren't sure how much longer RM31 Kai and RP30 Puka will be hanging out together but for now they are enjoying this little ohana.
Also they found RG28 Lefty who was snoozing in his pond. While resting in his spa pond little fish were nibbling at his body.

Over by the outfall they spotted a seal from afar. The seal was foraging and getting a hold of some big fish. It was an adult with greenish coat, pigging out on a big trumpet fish. They would guess this to be Kaale the fish thief, who goes after some big fish, but they couldn't make a positive ID.

Then they got word from a friend of a seal at nimitz. So they hurried over to find a little seal on the rocks. It was RT62 Kaiwa resting on the rocks alone. She is a cutie, looking just fine and doing okay.

They returned to pokai to recheck the area and found a seal with lots of green, perhaps the same one
who was foraging earlier. The seal didn't show them much and didn't move. They did not see any tags, lots of green on its coat, and now they wondered if it could be Kala.

Last stop at the cliffs the found another seal. Another difficult one to ID, hidden in the rocks. They saw tags and a CC scar so they knew this big momma was RL42 Leia.

March 23, 2025 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:14 to 1:47 pm and there were two seals seen during that time.
Initially alone on the waterline between the 3BS and SRI was an Adult Male: smaller adult size,  light gray male belly with partial C scar on left mid-chest and two red tags. At 1:45 pm, Marilyn realized he had moved to join the Adult Female, who was on the rock flats between 3BS and SRI.
The Adult Female was adult size, light gray female belly, scar on lower neck/upper chest and two red tags.
Marilyn thinks these are the same two seals that she saw yesterday.

Team R&B started their day at pokai watching the seals foraging. They saw R3CX Nalu briefly foraging in a school of fish, but they soon lost sight of him.
They saw RM31 Kai fighting/playing /foraging with a cute little seal with two red tags. They came close in, but there people on one side, a fisher on the other and two divers, so they never hauled out.
The little seal had a scar on the left neck area, possibly a bleach on the neck, a line scar that mid back.

At the outfall they spotted an adult seal, they did not see any tags. The seal was foraging by the outfall area among the many swimmers, divers and snorkelers.  They believe the seal is big boy RH32 Kaale.
At one point they saw the seal eat a large tako. He also went after the fishers fish, as the guy was hauling in his catch, of course this worried Team R&B. The seal took the fish and split with the snorkelers by his side. He certainly behaves like butt head Kaale.

Last stop was to check to see if RT62 Kaiwa was still hanging out. They had their doubts, but there she was still on the reef.  There were people and a dog out and about but all was good.  Miss Kaiwa was sound a sleep and never moved.
While hanging out with her they noticed a plover with his new suit getting ready to fly back soon.
