November 1, 2026 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Yesterday's news Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:36 am to 1:48 pm and there were seven seals seen on island.
Alone on LPB was Weaner Female 1: weaner size, light female belly and at least two tags. She started out on the berm, but later moved close to the waterfront rocks near the LPB channel.
About 40 feet on the 3BS side of middle cliff were two seals near the waterfront rocks:
Adult Unknown 1: adult size, newish dark dorsal coat, no info on sexor tags.
Nearby was Adult Unknown 2: adult size, newish coat, no info on sex or tags.
On shore a shore distance Kailua side of the 3BS was weaner RV76: larger weaner size, light yellow female belly, did not see tags.
A short distance on the SRI side of the 3BS was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, female belly, old coat, with lots of green and two red tags.
Between the 3BS and SRI were two seals:
Weaner Female 2: weaner size, yellowish female belly, and at least two red tags.
Adult Unknown 3: adult size, newer coat, not sure of sex, two red tags.

Team R&B started their day on the west side. They found RV20 on shore high up with a young woman sitting by him. They watched and took some photos. They went over to her and the woman said she had
to protect the seal from the dogs. Although there weren't any dogs around. So Team R&B asked her to move back from the seal. She took some videos and got Team R&B throwing a shaka. It took a while but she moved on. A volunteer had arrived so they filled the volunteer in and left the area.

Then Team R&B saw a slither of a seal resting at Tracks. They waited for it to move to get an ID. They called it into the hotline and a volunteer came out.  There were two homeless ladies came down from
the camp. The volunteer talked with them, took some photos of the seal and left. As soon as the volunteer left one of the homeless ladies went up to the seal with a watering can. At first Team R&B thought she slapped the seal as the seal reacted, flying its hind flippers in the air and barking at the woman. The lady went down to the water and filled the watering can again, and the seal barked at her leaping and
trying to bite. Then the seal took off, they didn't see where it went.
They called the hotline immediately. Tracks is a terrible place for the seals to rest.  They believe the seal was RP28 Wakea, their shot of its tag wasn't readable.
