October 19, 2026 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:19 to 2:24 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
At the back Lanikai side of LPB was RV76: large weaner size, light yellow female belly, no info on tags.
On the berm in the middle of LPB was R7AF: adult size, male belly, about 40% molted on the ventral and two red tags.
About 50 feet Lanikai side of the 1BS was RK24 Bruno: adult size, male belly, about 50% molted on the ventral and sloppy fur on the dorsal, two red tags.
Down from the 3BS was Juvenile Female 1: small juvenile size, old coat, very green, female belly and two red tags.
Between the 3BS and SRI were two seals:
Juvenile Female 2: larger juvenile size, tan-gray ventral, female belly  and two red tags. and
RV50: weaner size, female belly and three red tags.

Team R&B once again found Miss Kala RH76 on the west side. She was alone resting.
On an afternoon check she was sound a sleep, but a woman was right behind her. Kala moved to the zen pond in a hurry. All was good, lady checked Kala out and then she left.

At Kahe they saw a seal coming up on the rocks. The seal was a big
bugga, bumps on left back and tags. They were thrilled to see Kekoa Alii RK72 born in June 2011. They haven't seen him in a long time, and was happy to see him looking good. They waited around to see if another seal would show up but Kekoa was the only seal. While waiting a cute plover who just hung out close by was there keeping them company. And then there were the dolphins doing their thing.

October 10, 2026 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:50 am to 1:59 pm and there were seven seals seen during that time.
On the back Lanikai side of LPB were two seals:
R430 (formerly Temp N25): large sub-adult to small adult size, male belly, very green, no tags, has several dark patches on the middle and upper right ventral; and
RV76: recent weaner, light female belly, two red tags.
Where he was yesterday was RK24 Bruno: adult size, older coat, male belly, scar on right rear side and two red tags.
There were two seals in the front middle of LPB:
Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, new coat, female belly, no visible tags; and
RV50: weaner size, light female belly, three red tags and applied N81 bleach on left front side.
About 20 feet on the Lanikai side of the 3BS was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, old coat with lots of green, female belly and two red tags.
Near the SRI was an Adult Male: adult size, old dark coat, male belly and two red tags.

Team R&B once again found Miss Kala RH76 on the west side. She was at her spot alone and snoozing. They heard a lady yelling and went over to see a woman known to run the seals off and has dogs.
Kala was very alert and moved to a pond. The dog showed up so Team R&B went and talked to her about the dog, she said she understood. So Team R&B gave her the back story on Kala. Team R&B left the site once they saw she and the other dogs left.
They did an afternoon check and Kala was still at the pond. Then she got up and galumphed over to the rocks as the tide was coming in, she left through seal inlet.

Team R&B's only other find today was R407 Kawika. He was on shore and very alert, there were footprints once again close by him.
They stood and watched, there were poles up to his left so he moved more left. Two men came walking, one right pass R407. The other was heading straight to R407, then finally turned around and went around him. Team R&B tried to make a stick zone but the sticks were too soft and kept breaking.  They did their best and then called it a day.

October 9, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:05 to 2:12 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
On the Lanikai side of LPB was recent weaner RV76: large weaner size, light female belly and two red tags.
On the berm in the middle of LPB were three seals:
RV50: weaner size, female belly and three red tags; and
RK24 Bruno: adult size, old coat with scar on the right rear side, male belly and two red tags; and
Sub-adult Female: subadult size, new coat, light gray female belly, no obvious tags.
On the 1BS side of LPB was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, old coat with lots of green, female belly and two red tags.

Team R&B were on the west side and spotted a little green seal from afar. They headed over and upon arrival they were able to ID RV20/V24.
They saw Miss Kala RH76 who is almost done with her molt, and looking much better. She had a lot of visitors today, so Team R&B stayed and kept watch. When all the people left, Team R&B left to look for more seals.

While on the road they saw a seal but the traffic was stopped so it took them a bit to get there. When they arrived at the site there were two seals fighting, one sub-adult size, female, who they ID'd as RS32.
She landed, but the smaller seal took off. The other seal was younger, green, dark eyes and two red tags. They weren't able to read the tags, but saw that it was a male.

Lastly they headed over to check on R407 at Nimitz.  He was more to the right of where he had been during his molt. However he is officially done molting and looking handsome. Mahalo to posse pal Carol for keeping an eye on him.
