Starting their morning on the west side they spotted one right away. There was a seal at seal inlet by the zen  but the seal left.  While waiting, five surfers arrived to take advantage of the big surf.

The seal, who they ID'd as R617, went to the front of seal inlet, galumphed up and over the rocks, then into the pond where Kala usually sleeps. He didn't see her, so he went over to the rocks and into the surf again. Lastly he ended up back at the zen. Team R&B talked

with the 5 surfers about the seal, and they understood to be aware.

Next stop they checked out the outfall area. Today there was only one seal foraging. They have yet to figure out who this mysterious green adult seal is. 

Lastly they made it out to plains and there high up on shore was RT06. He was alone and resting in a zone set up for him. People were getting

close so Team R&B made a couple of adjustments and did their best to educate people.  

After they left they spotted another seal in the water from afar. The seal was foraging on something big. Team R&B didn't wait around and called it a day. That is once they got a chance to enjoy the dolphins.

August 26, 2026 Wednesday's Dailies

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:20 to 2:23 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.

On the Lanikai side of LPB were three to four seals.

PO13: recent weaner size, dark dorsal, light female ventral and no tags.

Adult Male: adult size, dark dorsal, thin body, male belly no visible tags.

There were one to two weaners also seen:

Weaner Female: weaner size, female belly, no info on tags

Weaner Unknown: weaner size, unknown sex and no tag info.

On the Makapuu side of the Middle Cliff area was a Juvenile Female: large juvenile to small adult size, female belly and two red tags.

Team R&B started their day on the west side. They spotted a seal on the rocks with no tags. They ID'd R617 and he is looking healthy and robust. 

Next they headed over to plains, where they found KG54. She was alone resting on shore in a zone set up for her. HFD was in the area practicing. 

They received a text about a seal at paradise cove. They had an

appointment but went to check it out when the finished. There was RP28 Wakea in the lagoon. Folks gathered on shore, and one guy told them to clear the area so the seal could come to shore. RP28 came ashore after many rolls in the water, then headed to the rocks and hauled out. Seems he was dreaming about females.

Heading back to the west side they stopped by the outfall. They saw two seals in the water foraging. Both were adults one with a lot of green and the other was RL12 Aukai.

Back on the west side later in the day they didn't see any seals. They stuck around for a while and sure enough a seal was hauling in fast. It was R617, who they had seen earlier. He was looking around then went to front of the rocks, landed looked around and left again. Seemed like he thought there was another seal in the area. Team R&B kept looking but didn't see any other seals. 

Then out of nowhere another seal came flying by over the rocks and

ponds. They were lucky to get a tags shot and later discovered it was RM31 Kai. Then he left.  

There was another seal far out, but they weren't able to get anything to ID, and the seal disappeared.

After all of that R617 returned and hauled out to the coral rubble and stayed.

August 24, 2026 Monday's Dailies

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:10 to 2:17 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.

Initially near each other on LPB were two seals:

Recent Weaner PO13: recent weaner size, no tags, female belly.

Adult Male 1: adult size, old coat, no tags seen, might be starting to molt but not sure. AM1 moved around PO13 and later moved to the beach Lanikai side of the beach.

Down from 3BS were two weaners near each other:

RV52 weaner size, mostly sand covered, female belly and to red tags.

RV50 weaner size, female belly, three red tags, and applied N81 bleach on left front side.

Out on RRB where he was yesterday was Adult Male 2: adult size, new coat, two tags and male belly.

Team R&B started on the west side. Their first find was Miss Kala RH76, she was resting at the zen. She was alone, looking a little thin but doing okay.

Later in the afternoon they went back to check and now Miss Kala was in the company of R617.

Checking things out by the outfall they did see Miss Aukai RL12 with a Unknown Adult. They were foraging once again. Must be good spot to catch a bite.

Team R&B got word of a seal on the west side, so they went back to check it out. They walked so far on the beach not finding anything. Disappointed they went back to the car. Their friend saw them and asked if they saw the seal? ..... what seal? So their friend took them all the way back and there in plain view was RU04. Happy to see her but

not sure how they missed her. She is looking good, nice weight and very green.

Last stop was at the cliffs. They saw a big adult seal with clean coat and no disguisable marks, and a red tag they couldn't read. They thought maybe it was a female but didn't have a good enough view to be sure.
