The single most dreaded day in my year arrived today, in the form of the Century Bike Ride. Trying to get anywhere, or doing anything is an impossibility with every bike in the world on our 3rd World roadways in the SE Quadrant , and that is both directions from town to Waimanalo and back. NIGHTMARE is definitely the operative word here, and it continued alllllllll day.

Despite that Kimo and I found Irma (R010) once again at the far right end of Makapuu Beach, at 0603. She was cordoned off, but the ungrateful wench departed, of her own volition at 0700.

At 0754 I found Kolohe (RW22) snoozin' at Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island.

At 1113 I would find Aukai (RL12) at Rocky Right Beach. Unfortunately, she was only visible from the Makapuu Overview.

At 1244, the "Napela B". a cabin cruiser, arrived off shore of Rabbit Island, and after anchoring the occupants, 4 adults, 2 kids , all snorkeled to shore arriving in front of the 1st (NEW) blue "Prohibited Entry...Keep Off Island" sign and proceeded to spend the next hour exploring the left end of the island, not the least bit affected by the new signs. Thankfully, they were unaware of the two animal at the right end. DOCARE was called , of course, but as is sooooo often the case , there was no response. So much for the new and improved signage.

At 0727 Team Billand reported M&M (R020) at Tower#2 , White Plains.

At 1309 she would be joined by Kermit (R012), but he would later move to #1706, but return to M&M again at 1335. He would finally depart at 1345. WP sounded like the usual nightmare. Thanks to Amy, Robin & Glen for enduring the experience.

At 1125 Dana called to advise that RI37 had been reported at Shark's Cove. ID had been made by a tourist, via her hind flipper tag.

Dana would call again at 1237 to advise that Karen Turner had found La'akea (RK82) at the elbow, Turtle Bay.

At 1500 Dana advised of an animal at Makaha Beach. Debbie responded, and the Billands confirmed the Benny (RE74) ID at 1614.

5-13-2012 DB' Dailies: Kaiwi@SC, Kolohe@RI, Irma@LL, Kermit,R018,Kerby&Noa@Maili Pt, RI37@Yokes

At 0720 we found Kaiwi (RK96) at Spitting Cave , doing 6 minute dives. Gayle checked in later to report that Kaiwi had disappeared at 0809.

At 0912 I found Kolohe (RW22) waiting for me at Rabbit Island. He had the place all to himself today.

At 1200 I went to Lanai Lookout, in hopes of finding Kaiwi, but alas she was not to be found. What I did find however, was Irma (R010) approximately 100 ft off shore, doing 10 minute dives. I had not seen her at this location before.

Team Billand checked in at 0906 with the report of Kermit (R012) at Maili Point.

At 0917 they found R018, also at Maili Point.

They had been watching two playing off shore for a while, but at 1000 Team Billand reported Kerby (RW08) and Noa (R6FI) at Maili Point. Barbara commented on a warm fuzzy moment between Kermit & Noa. 

The Billands called at 1820 to advise that they had returned to Maili Point in response to a call about kids throwing rocks at the seals. The "schooled" the kids, and advised that Kerby and Noa were gone, but Kermit and R018 remained.

Team Billand called at 1739 with the report of RI37 at Yokes.

Afternoon email from Diane advised of an U/U at Sunset Beach today. The photo recieved was not ID quality.
