February 9, 2026 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

They headed over to Makaha and initially there were no seals. But then they spotted a Unknown Juvenile sleeping alone on shore.  There was a visitor that was concerned there was something wrong with the seal.
They were able to determine this little one is a male that was recently seen on the Ka'ena side.  Team R&B have seen him at yoks as well. He has no tags and they noted a scar on his chest. The wound on his hind flipper is healed but covered with sand. He's a little skinny and needs to put on some weight.
While on site they heard a lady call out seal coming. They saw a very large male haul up with the Juvenile Male. They didn't see any tags and though maybe RG32 but didn't see his applied bleach. They just couldn't be sure who this male is, so reported as an  Unknown Male. He went over by the J/M and then galumphed passed him and went to sleep.
Then they got word there was another seal. So they went over by the lifeguards and found RU40. He looks good and no new markers seen.

They went to other areas and didn't find any seals. So they decided to return and now saw three seals on shore. There was RP30 Puka who was with the Juvenile Male and the Adult Male. They were all snoozing in peace.

Team R&B got a message earlier of a seal arriving at plains. At that time they were busy, but finally made out out later in the day. Well there were two seals on shore now.
RL12 Aukai was with R3CX Nalu. (maybe he'll be the baby daddy). Both looked comfortable and cute together. He kept checking on her, it seems he did something that made her react like she was laughing.

December 24, 2025 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B 💕
I have a correction from yesterday's post in that I mentioned RG32 was ID'd by his tags. He does not have tags and I got him mixed up with something else.

Team R&B arrived at pokai and their friend was at the site, calling for them to come over by them.
They spotted two seals foraging. They watched closely and were excited to see a small male RU40 Wai foraging with Nalu R3CX.  Nalu followed him all over the area, close to the rocks, to the jetty and back. It was an awesome site.

Heading over to check out the outfall area, they once again spotted multiple seals. They tried to followone seal at a time to determine their ID, but it got crazy especially with so many people in the water.
The first seals they saw; a sub-adult female, RL08, and RL12 Aukai who was with RG32. Lastly they were able to ID Lei Ola RH48. BUT.... omg look at all the people and the seals were right next to them. Scary for sure, but I am sure the snorkelers were in heaven.

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas!

December 17, 2025 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕  Marilyn hasn't been to the pier due to recent weather conditions. Also she'll be traveling for the holidays so we may not got any Rabbit Island updates for a bit.

Team R&B set out on another crazy, rainy windy day, there was even thunder earlier in the morning,
They arrived at pokai and the only seal seen was R3CX Nalu. He was out there alone foraging and catching lots of fish.  He was still out foraging when they checked in the afternoon.

Well apparently the whales were enjoying the weather. Team R&B got to watch a spectacular show, which makes it all worth it being out there on this blustery day.

Over at the outfall area there were multiple seals foraging. Team R&B did their best to come up with their IDs. There was RH48 Lei Ola, RM31 Kai, RL08 and RL20 Kalua.  Quite a group.

Team R&B headed out over to yoks and found a seal on shore. It was RG28 Lefty, looking quite handsome in his new coat.

One last look at Makaha in between the downpours.  They not only found a seal on shore they were thrilled to find three turtles on shore. One of them had a tumor on the left side.
They walked out and ID'd the seal as RU40 and one of the guys brought out the signs. RU40 looks so tiny and green, but mostly adorable.
