Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:55 to 2:55 and there were two seals during that time.

Initially when Marilyn arrived she did not see any seals. But soon after she became aware of two seals playing in the SRI channel. A short time later, the smaller seal seemed to escape. Ultimately both seals hauled out at different ends of the island.

Bruno/Wawamalu hauled out at LPB: adult size, about 95% molted, scar on right rear side, and two red tags. He appears to have a few remnants of old fur on his rear dorsal area and rear flippers.

At about the same time, a Female Weaner hauled out from the channel at RRB: weaner size, older coat, light female belly and two red tags.

Team R&B started their day at the outfall and there was lots of activity in the area. There were sharks spotted, two tigers and another unknown. Lots of dolphins having their usual fun and two seals foraging.

Lifeguards were on they're megaphone announcing sharks spotted, get out! Most folks listened, but there were those that did not.... hmmmmm..... they just continued to swim around.

The two seals were near the outfall, one went into the outfall and the bigger one left, they lost sight of it. The bigger seal was clean coat and large.... they soon figured out it was KG54.  The other seal had two red tags, one of the tags was broken. They just could make an ID.

There was a boy throwing rocks at the sharks, Team R&B just wasn't able to get a pic of the sharks.

Next they were on the road when they thought they saw a seal. Going over to look, and it took some time there was a weaner hauled out hiding in the rocks. It took forever to get the tag shot. With the big waves hitting the seal they were able to see it was RS20. She is looking just fine, no hooks, and no new markers on this cutie pie.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:05 to 2:55 and there were two seal seen today.

Midway between 3BS and SRI among the waterfront rocks was an Unknown Juvenile: juvenile size, older coat with a fair amount of green and at least two red tags. The UJ was often coated with sand which made determining its sex unreliable.

Near SRI was an Adult Female: adult size, light female belly and two red tags. This is the same female Marilyn has been reporting with a line scar on her mid right chest area.

Team R&B got to the bay and from afar they saw there was a commotion, bobbing heads as if seals were fighting. They headed over but by they time they got there the seal was gone and further away, They were never able to get a photo.

At Kahe point they spotted another seal from afar. There were five dogs in the area who barked at them, so they stopped and waited for the dogs to leave. Some left and the smaller dogs stayed, so with a stick Team R&B braved their way through.

There below was one seal resting. They were able to ID RQ42 Opihi, who is looking green and chubby.  It stinks he's in a spot with so many dogs running around off leash.

At another west side location they found a green male on the lower rocks. It was Nalu R3CX, who was resting alone. He started to perk up and entered the water, came back up looking. This made Team R&B look around too. Ah Ha! another seal!

There was the lovely R604. R3CX seemed to know she was there but couldn't see her hidden in the upper rocks. She stayed still and quiet.

R3CX worked really hard to see her, but finally gave up and left the site. They didn't see him again.

However Miss R604 remained snoozing peacefully.

Their last seal was a real challenge. The seal was so well hidden in the rocks they had nothing that would give them an ID.  But lady luck was on their side and the seal did a flipper flex and they saw the tags to ID RS20.  Love when they cooperate.

In yesterdays news Tammy 6was out to the point with Lesley. Their first find was RG28 Lefty at Hidden Beach. Out at the point they found R330 Squinty well hidden in a tidepool.  Also there was TA68, who is the big male from Laysan. 

They decided to hike Keawa'ula side and they were not disappointed. They found RW02 PvKauai in the same spot and position as last week. He must really like it there. 

They spotted the newly molted RM31 Kai. Lastly they found RS20 in a tidepool doing a hippo impression.

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:55 to 3:05 and there were four seals during her viewing session.

On the Lanikai side of LPB was an Adult Female: large adult size, light to medium gray female belly and two red tags. There appeared to be a line scar on the mid right chest, and possibly a scar on the right lower chin.

A short distance away from the AF toward the 1BS was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, yellowish female belly and two red tags. She was draped over the LPB berm.

Almost directly down from the 1BS was a Subadult Female: small subadult size, older coat, light gray female belly and two red tags. 

Out on RRB was a Female Weaner: weaner size, light female belly and two red tags. This seal may have a white nail on it's RFF.

Once again Team R&B started their day at the bay. They saw a woman looking at an area on the rocks. Well sure enough there was RH76 Kala on the rocks and she looked as though she just arrived.

Next stop they stopped to watch the dolphins and they saw a green seal pass by quickly. Today they were able ID the seal as Nalu R3CX who hauled out in the shallows. He rested for about 3 minutes and then took off with so many snorkelers in the area. Team R&B did not see him again.

Lastly at another west side location they spent an hour with a seal trying to get an ID. They thought it was R604 but they had to leave. But that's not the end of the story.  They returned and the seal changed position so they could get a positive ID that it was R604.
