5-22-2013 DB Dailies: Kainoa,Duke&M38@RI, Kaiwi@SC, Rocky@MI, R5AY@Kaaawa, Buster@KCG, Benny@WP, Right Spot, Ua Malie&Kaikaina@TB

On my 2nd look at Rabbit Island, at 0920 I found Duke (RA12) at Seal Rock Inlet. He would later relocated to the left end rock flats on Rabbit Island, where he remained the rest of the day.

On a pan at 1002 I found Kainoa (RN04) newly arrived at the far left end of the beach on RI. He too would remain at that location all day.

At 1105 RM38 would haul out to the left end of the beach, first checking in with Kainoa and then moving to Duke. There was never any interaction. M38 was in full "cruiser male mode", spending the day cruising RI , end to end. The haul outs to Duke & Kainoa when happen two more times, with no interaction. Each time he would return to the water after a couple of minutes, only to do it all over again later on.

At 1108 Gayle called with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) doing 6 minute dives at Spitting Cave.

At 0723 Dera called with the report of an animal along the roadside in Kaaawa. Photo recieved would confirm the R5AY ID. She would be gone at 0930.

At 0752 the Billands checked in , following Buster (RV08) , in cruiser male mode, traveling from Kalaeloa CG to Hau Bush (Ewa Beach), on his Irma Quest. They lost him at Hau Bush, but find him again for a moment at Wind Sock, before he continued on his adventure.

At 1032 the Billands reported Benny (RE74) newly arrived fronting Tower #1 , White Plains. They would later advise that he had relocated to #1707, WP.

On their 1355 recheck, Benny was gone, but in his place was RP (RR70) at #1707. RIP would depart at 1738.

Posse member Christian called at 1059 with the report of "N11" , Rocky (RH58) just hauling out to the beach at Magic Island. He and a lifeguard would cordon her off. Dana advised at 1443 that Stephen had responded. Rocky departed at 1536.

At 1407 Lesley called with the report of Right Spot (R016) at Turtle Bay.

At 1445 she checked in again with the report of Ua Malie (RT10) at her birth beach, and "Little Sister", Kaikaina (RL54) at Elbow Beach. (Thank you....you know who you are)

Last but not least, Happy Birthday Mojo. My #2 turns 9 today.

Kimo checked in at 0620 with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at Lanai Lookout.

On my 2^nd look at Rabbit Island at 0852 I finally glimpsed a galumphing dome amongst the left end shallow water rocks. He would haul out to the left end rock flats at 1020, and was once again the only RI resident today.

At 0722 the Billands called about receiving word of an animal at Lagoon#2, KoOlina. Dana checked in at 0755 to advise that Linda Steton had confirmed the RB24 ID. She would depart at 1629.

At 0807 Team Billand reported Kolohe (RW22) at Maili Point. This is his 2^nd documented trip to the west side.


At 1015 the Billands reported Irma (R010), hauling out to Wind Sock.

They surprised me with news at 1049 that my boy Buster (RV08) was just hauling out to join Irma at Wind Sock. I saw Buster 2 days ago at Spitting Cave & China Walls. I guess that was the beginning of his journey. Irma decided to depart at 1124, and of course Buster was close behind. The Billands advised that it looked like Irma gave him the slip at Al’s Beach, Kalaeloa Campground, hauling out there, while Buster kept going toward White Plains. Barbara advised that he finally figured it out, and found Irma again at Al’s Bench.

Speaking of Buster... Happy 8^th to my #3 son !!!

Dera called at 1215 to advise that she’d gotten 2 separate calls about animals at Papailoa St, and Pohaku Loa Way, on the North Shore. These locations are right together, and it may well have been a single animal. Joanne Petigrew confirmed RI37 at Pohaku Loa. She found nothing at Papailoa.

Also at 1215 Dera reported a call from Eileen with the report of "N72", Kekoa (RK72) at the Reef Runway.

At 1329 the Billands found Benny (RE74) at #1708 White Plains. Shortly thereafter they called again to advise that Kermit (R012) arrived and hauled out just down from Benny.

At 1339 posse member Christian called with the report of Rocky (RH58) at Magic Island.

At 0654 I found Sadie&Pup (D#27) doing a feed in the Morning Glory, 30 ft left of 1BS, on Rabbit Island. They would do 2 swims and 3 feeds in my presence, and remained all day.

 At 0833 Gayle called with the report of Kaiwi (RK96), and 2 other animals. By my arrival at 0841 Gayle had gotten the Kolohe (RW22) ID. Neither of us were able to get an ID on the 3rd, and smallest animal. My guess is Aukai, but ?????????  All three went around the point, headed east, at 0900.

 At 1219 Buster (RV08) hauled out to Right Greenery on Rabbit Island. ID was by his N21 bleach. He remained the rest of the day.

 At 1550 posse member Alan Hong called to report an animal on the rock flats just east of Lanai Lookout. When I arrived at 1601 found found Kaiwi (RK96) tucked in close to the cliff on "Buster Flats". She was only visible by going down thru the lava tube.

 Vera Cober called at 0929 to report Kermit (R012) fronting #1708, White Plains. He would be joined at 1526 by R018.

 At 1009 Dana called to advise of an animal at Magic Island. Colleen would later confirm the Rocky (RH58) ID.

 Dana called again at 1040 to report "N6", Right Spot (R016) at 3 Tables on the North Shore.

 I received shots from yesterday's RI37 haul out in Waialua.

 Diane Pike sent a shot of my boy Duke (RA12) on Molokai, yesterday.
