October 18, 2026 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

On the west side their first find was the lovely Miss Kala RH76. She moved down some but still in the rocks.  Some fishers came by, one of them caught a big Papio. The fish was huge and the fisher was trying to pick it up but the fish fell into a pond by Kala. She was very alert to them, as they tried to capture the fish again, but the waves came in and the fish swam away. Kala wasn't happy with the guys so close, but she stayed in her spot and they guys left.

Still on the west side they saw a seal foraging, they were able to ID RH48 Lei Ola and she was in a hurry. So much so she disappeared that quickly. Sure enough there was another seal, it came around. They saw it had a cc scar,  which led them to believe this is RG28 Lefty.  They saw folks pointing, so they went to check and there was RG28 hauling up near the zen area. But then he turned around and left.

At Kahe they found the large green seal again. Today they made a positive ID on Kalani RN14. He was alone resting peacefully. They couldn't believe how big he is. He and Kaale used to be best buds for years until they both grew up and discovered females. They also got to enjoy a couple of dolphins having fun as usual.

Next they headed over to plains and found the lovely, big Huakai KG89. She was on shore by the lifeguards. She barely moved to get a good look at her tags, but it was her.

October 13, 2026 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

Out on the west side their first find was Miss Kala RH76. She was alone at the zen pond. While watching over her they spotted another seal coming in. It was R617, who galumphed all the way up to Kala. Too bad so sad she wanted nothing to do with him.

Still on the west side they spotted an adult seal foraging. The seal had a clean coat, lots of scars and one tag. They determined it was Lei Ola RH48. They did not see her land while they were there.

Over by rest camp they saw a little green seal with an applied bleach N50. Its RV20 on shore with a
zone set up for him. He was a star, all the maintenance people were excited to see such a young seal. Team R&B took the time and told them about him.  They met up with a woman from the mainland who they been talking with about the seals. She told them she wanted to contact them as soon as she saw RV20. She leaves tomorrow... Mahalo Janet for caring.

Team R&B got a text about a seal onshore at plains. They headed over and when they arrived they were happy to see KG89 Huakai. She is looking good, no new markers. She
is the one seal that can take big hits from the waves. They waited for her to turn and haul up but she stayed where she was.

Their last seal of the day was Kawika R407. He was on shore with his plover buddy.  Then R407 turned and hauled up higher on shore. There were two homeless guys, so Team R&B stuck around and so did they. R407 remained undisturbed, and Team R&B were happy to spend more time with him.

October 7, 2026 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn hiked Ka'ena Point today from 8:32 am to 12:30 pm and saw six seals during that time.
First find was RL47 Kamakana: adult size, two red tags, new coat, male belly. He looks healthy. (He is RB12 Sadies' 2019 Rabbit Island pup).
Next there was RW02 PvKauai, but he was on a side of a berm and Marilyn wasn't able to get a good photo.
Then there were two seals a short distance from each other:
R330 Squinty: adult size, male belly, older coat and 3CB tag.
RP96 Loli'i: sub-adult to adult size, male belly and P96 tag.
In the NAR were two seals:
The first one was visiting all the spots from Ka'ena's pool to the main pool: adult size, old coat, male belly, pit scar at the base of LFF and scar over left eye. This was RN04 Kainoa, whom Marilyn has not seen in aged. He is RB12 Sadie's 2013 Rabbit Island pup.
The final seal was mostly submerged, but she believes this was Lefty RG28. (no photos)

Team R&B started on the west side, they had no idea that a seal was below them in the rocks. It was their beloved RH76 Kala who is about 60% molted. She was alert as if there was another seal and there was.
They spotted another seal to the right far out foraging. It was Lei Ola RH48 and she was alone today.
They also so another seal foraging, it was sub-adult size, clean coat, tags but unsure of sex. It was reported as an unknown sub-adult.

After an appointment they headed over to plains and found RG89Huakai high up on shore. They hurried to try and see another seal way down. Much to their surprise on shore further down was R416 looking green and plump. He left the area about 3 pm after throwing up.

Their last find was at nimitz, it was late and the traffic was bad. The seal was R407 Kawika on shore very alert and moving about. There
were a couple people in the area, they were walking down, but then turned around. R407 is well into his molt and will soon be the handsome male that he is, but for now he's a raggedy mess.
