05/21/2021 Friday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team T&D and Team R&B 💕.

Team T&D hiked out and met up with Lesley at Ka'ena Point. Their first find was Holokai RG40, which is nice to know the boy is in the neighborhood.   Their next find were two seal in the main pool. There was R3CX Nalu and RL74 Kami. Nalu was being very aggressive and playing rough with Kami. Seems the boy needs to learn some manners.  Then out of no where a third seal appeared, it was PvKauai RW02. The two males fought several times to win ovet Kami. Seems PvKauai had the upper flipper and Nalu left. Then Kami gave PvKauai a flipper pat, maybe she was saying thank you.

After all the seal drama the hard work began. Last week Dave and Tammy saw fishing rope near the

shoreline. At that time it was soaking wet and very heavy, they were only able to pull it halfway up. Today the three of them got the rope the rest of the ay up. Dave and Lesley dragged it out and Lesley was able to drive it out.  As they were heading out they were treated to a whale breaching. Of course they had to stop and check in on Leia RL42 and Puka P03.

Team R&B first stop at a westside site they found Kala RH76 at seal inlet alone. Leina RL70 was also at the site laying on the rocks further inland. She looked like she was posing with her chin resting on the rock.

They headed over to tracks and found Kolohe RW22 sleeping on shore. There were a lot of truck tracks in the sand. People were camping in the area. Team R&B called the hotline to report.

Team R&B then headed to the outfall and there were two seals in the area. The Akule boats were out and the fishermen at the outfall were upset. The two seals bosom buddies always getting themselves in trouble were Kaale and Kalani. Team R&B called the hotline and stayed on site for a few hours. Despite going in an out of the nets stealing fish it seems RN14 and RH32 were able to escape the danger. Just after 10 am they saw a seal swimming towards Kahe. It was RH32 Kaale and he landed, thankfully he was safe.

From a distance they could see two seals landed at tracks, turned out to be Kalani RN14 and Rw22 Kolohe.

Team R&B did a recheck and this time they were surprised to see Benny RE74 now with Kala RH76. At this time Leina was gone, but on their last check of the day she returned and was to the right of Benny and Kala.
