05/20/2021 (part 2) Lesley's Ka'ena Point Update

 

After checking on RL42 Leia & P03 Puka D9 I met Adrien the Pac-Rim Vet to head out to look for the injured LAAL. We found it and were able to catch, assess it cage him and drive him out. Successful mission but with a battle scar. Note: who complained about the vaccines has NO idea how a LAAL stings for a longtime!

We searched for the LAAL in several locations where it's been the previous 2 days. We decided to walk around and wait, while doing so we sighted and IDed 3 seals RO40 Ka'ena, RL74 Kami and RE74 Benny. They were not together.

Benny still has his dangling piece of coral and Ka'ena is CLEAN, no more line visible.

Just after seeing them, we found the LAAL - so I wasn't able to check the rest of the NAR for seals.

Back at the M&P site, I was talking to the volunteer we saw a head swimming bobbing up and down. It was Da Benny. He came straight to Leia & Puka. She gave him some words he backed off and left. I later went to look for him & found him hauled out on a beach sleeping peacefully.
