It was a pleasant windy blustering day.
We started the morning checking the ID of a seal hauled out down the road - as I waited for Marilyn and Diane, from the garden I saw it hauling out. It was RW02 PVKauai. Later in the morning he swam to mum & Pup's beach, while we were there, we only saw him logging and rolling in the shallow on the opposite side of the beach.
RL42 Leia and P03 Puka on D4 are doing great. She's doing a great job and Puka alternates naps and a lot of playing with his FF flippers or some wondering around mum.
We headed out to the point with big black clouds following us, after dodging the rain for all week today it caught up with us. The strong wind dried us up in minutes.
On the R3CX Nalu and RL98 Lina were the only 2 sightings on that side of the park and in different locations.
We wandered if the extremely low tide had any impact on the seals preference to haul out or they were all just out and about foraging.
The adult LAAL have been loving the wind, but the chicks seem to be hunkered down.
Yesterday afternoon we had whales breaching in front of the house. It's very late for them to still be around but a pleasure to watch.
More soon - Be Safe
