Today's dailies are brought to you by Marilyn, Melody and Team R&B💕
Team R&B started out at Pokai Bay and they came up empty. Then the headed out to another west side location and finally found RL20 Kalua who was fast a sleep on the rocks alone. He never changed position so they were unable to get a look at his belly. The boy is green very very green.
Team R&B continued to search and were coming up empty. Very
frustrating but interesting as to where did they all go and why? Finally their persistence paid off and they were able to end their day on a good note when they found Miss Lei Ola RH48 and RK72 Kekoa Alii once again together. Today they were in a different spot. Both were very alert and very aware of each others moves. Seemed like Lei Ola wanted to leave but Kekoa moved into the little pond. Lei Ola was satisfied that he moved away and she stayed.Marilyn was out yesterday checking up on seals. Since there hadn't been any word on Aukai's where abouts and she knew her due date was coming up. On her first check she did see a large seal at waterfront rocks at RRB and possibly an applied bleach. Later in the day she went back and viewing conditions were better. The big reward was there as RL12 Aukai and her new pup P04. (Yes now there are four). Aukai applied N13 bleach was visible, her large adult adult size and dark female belly with two tags. She and P04 did a fair amount of moving around during her viewing.
About 20 minutes into viewing Marilyn became aware that seal had hauled out at SRI. This seal is labeled UJF unknown juvenile size, lighter female belly and two tags. Shortly after that Marilyn spotted the weaner P01 hauling out on LPB. P01 was ID'd by weaner size, coloration and a small NB on the RFF and no tags. There is still a question if we have a boy or girl.
Melody spent some time with Kaiwi RK96 and P02 yesterday and
today. Seems Mom and pup spent a lot of time swimming and the little one is getting feisty. Several times they had words between them, but its all about growing up. Kaiwi is a good Mom she knows how to flap the little on into shape. Oh and Happy Birthday Gamma Gayle!Today Mom had to convince P02 that he had to get in the water. He finally decided to follow her when she let out a loud bark. They swam out in the middle and were doing some dives. Looks like P02 is getting stronger with his dives each day. They went out past the jetty and then decided to come back in, but they went away from their zone and went straight towards the Natatorium. Of course this makes crowd control difficult and having to set up a new zone area. After everything was under control Mom and pup went back in the water and went to the other end of the beach and made it back to their fenced area. Melody left about 4 this afternoon after a busy and exciting day.
