05/18/2021 Tuesday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by posse pal Leighton, Ulu, Melody and of course our Team R&B💕.

We have some video footage of Kaiwi RK96 and P02 from today. We also have video of RL42 Leia giving birth to P03 6 days ago. Ulu put together this beautiful mini movie of them. Leighton visited with RL42 Leia and P03 and his photo tells a story of a visitor. I am going to post Leighton's photo's part two of the dailies.

Team R&B was out checking the usual spots looking for RL20 Kalua

and did not find him. BUT they did find a pig. Wonder if it's name is Kalua? (sorry couldn't resist). Team R&B left the cute pig and went to another location when they saw the little green goblin landing up on the rocks. He remained there all day, as they checked on him several times. Seeing him so green I wonder if this is what Kermit first looked like when DB first saw him and named him Kermit.

At another stop they found RN14 Kalani on the rocks sleeping alone. As they watched Kalani, they saw a seal speeding by, it was RW22 Kolohe who just kept swimming and not landing.

Team R&B took a drive further west and that's where they found the couple of the year, Kekoa and Lei Ola. RH48 Lei Olan and RK72 Kekoa were on the rocks. Looks like they were there from yesterday based on the amount of poop and pee on the rocks. They certainly enjoy each others company. It looked like they were getting ready to leave the site.

Team R&B back tracked to a couple of locations and they were happy

they found Kala RH76 in a different spot. She is lovely and is probably hiding from the boys pestering her.

From a distance they saw a seal at tracks and people close to it. So they hurried down to the site and saw that it was RW22 Kolohe resting on shore. There was a woman sitting near him but not bothering him. Then came along little miss muffet sitting on her tuffet getting to close to get her photos.

Melody went down early this morning and Kawi and P02 were already in the water swimming around the jetty. P02 was a real squawker today letting out pup barks every couple of minutes or more. Kaiwi is looking a little tired these days. But despite being weary they had a real big day of swimming and foraging. P02 spent a lot of time by the jetty putting his head into the rocks under water and then out by the canoes, playing with the buoys or anything else he could get his flippers on. According to Gamma Gayle Kaiwi also like playing with the buoys. Guess the little guy takes after his momma. Melody left a little after noon time and the pup had started nursing, probably a nap to follow soon after.
