05/05/2021 Wednesday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕.  Part 2 of the dailies are a series of photos taken over the past 2 days of Kaiwi and Pup. Thank you to all of you that are sharing these precious photos of Mom and Pup.

Team R&B first find was spotted on lower rocks alone. It was RL70 Leina resting and looking quite content.  Over to the right of seal inlet they spotted the lovely RH76 Kala also snoozing and alone. Team R&B think both ladies may have spent the night on the rocks as they were both bone dry and the exact spot they left them late afternoon the day before.

While watching over the two girls they thought they saw a turtle but it was the little greenie RL20

Kalua. They lost sight of him for a minute until they heard a sneeze but still could lay eyes on him.  They went back to their original spot and there was RL20 who had landed in the shallows. He blended in so well with the surroundings they didn't even notice at first.

RL20 Kalua got a whiff of Miss Leina so he galumphed raising his little neck up high. The little buggah went from 0 to 30 miles an hour. He slowly went to her sniffed her hind flipper which got her attention. Kalua just kept going and she accepted him without any problems. They are about the same age, RL20 is Luana's pup and RL70 is from Molokai.  Both were snoring on the rocks together.  On a recheck they were still together.  RH76 Kala was still at the inlet snoozing peacefully.  

Team R&B didn't find any other seals today but did get to see some whales and dolphins.
