05/03/2021 Monday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you my Lesley, Melody and Team R&B💕.  Lesley's Ka'ena update is part two of the dailies.  Melody's Kaiwi update is part three of the dailies.

Team R&B started at 6:30 am checking out the area and found nothing, and then at 7:15 they spotted a seal coming into the outfall. Then the seal went out and they were able to see it was Kalani RN14.  He left the outfall and headed to tracks and landed for a minute. He looked around , rolled about and then just as Team R&B got there he left. (little buggah) They saw him head straight out to the opened ocean and they lost site of him. They never saw him again.

They headed over to another westside location and initially there was nothing. Then they spotted a seal

hauling up on water front rocks. It was Kala RH76, the waves were getting to her so she moved further inland.

Team R&B headed over to pokai bay and found two seals. RH48 Lei Ola was to the left on the rocks, flip flopping, over and over as if she couldn't find a comfortable position.  To her right was the little guy RL20 Kalua. They made the necessary notifications of his location. Seal was resting comfortably on the rocks. They notices a mark on his left side they didn't notice yesterday. He has a nickle sized hole on his left side under the arm pit. Other than that they spent their time educating people who came by.
