9/16/2018 Monk Seal Dailies: Melody's Update Yesterday & Today

Melody sent news yesterday about Rocky and I had already closed out for the day. Then she sent more news about today so here is some news from yesterday and today.

On Saturday early morning Melody headed down to the beach and was thrilled to find Rocky RH58 hanging around and snoozing on the beach. It was windy and rainy and Rocky stayed through the weather and then finally the sun broke through and shortly after Rocky headed back to the water. She had a good long sleep from being there overnight and leaving after 11 am. The good news is the beach was really quiet so she had absolute peace and quiet. Melody did some outreach with the few folks that had wandered by. Good place for Rocky to hang out.

Today, Melody spent a fun day doing education and outreach with Dana Jones and Jan Williamson with the Hawaiian Monk Seal Preservation Ohana booth at the K9 & Keiki Carnival hosted by the Fur Angel Foundation in Pearl City.  They had a busy day with hundreds of people stopping by. The keiki were especially into learning about the seals, which always the most fun.
To add to Melody's already fun day she stopped by the beach on the way home and there was Rocky snoozing on the beach. What a wonderful ending to a day, not to mention the sunset.
