In the seal world this is who we saw:
R330 "Squinty" on D8 of his molt into 60% - he has overnighted. I did several checks thru out the day, he has moved around but always in the same area. He is very alert and keeps an eye on every movement
At Hidden Beach we saw 2 bumps down the sand slope near the waterline RN58 "Luana" and RW02 "PVKauai" were side by side sleeping. When we came out a couple of hours later they were still there.
At the point RO40 "Ka'ena" was on some reefs between BG and Nihoa's Pools.
We had quiet morning, later in the afternoon there were more people going out for a hike and this evening the ones that come for the sunset - it was a cloudy one.
I just came up from checking in on "Squinty" and "Napua". He has moved up to the Naupaka line for an overnight. She is still at Birth Beach near the waterline sleeping peacefully.
I'd like to send a big shout out & MAHALO to 808 Clean Up. I went down to meet Matt and part of the crew that worked with him on the clean-up part of the Big Campsite area. They were shocked by the amount of nails in the bigger fire pit and unfortunately there's still more to get out. But the difference is amazing. THANK YOU, thank you, thank you !
Just a reminder open fires and camping are NOT allowed in the State Park. More tomorrow
