Team Billand did the Ka'ena west trek. They were happy to find RL42 Leia with RN14 Kalani. They were getting ready to leave. Apparently Kalani was being a pain in the butt and Leia wasn't happy with him. She barked at him, he would move closer. The waves were crashing over them when finally RL42 Leia took off. Kalani RN14 was right behind her.
Team Billand's next find was little RL20 Kalua hidden away. They just happen to see some green by accident and taking a closer look there was RL20 resting. So much for camouflage.
It will be good to see this little green kid with a brand new coat once he molts.
Marilyn checked out a couple of spots on the east side on her way home. She spotted a seal hauling out so she went to get a closer look. This critter hauled all the way up to the naupaka where it rolled over. After a couple of rolls he eventually made his way back in the water.
Marilyn was able to ID Kekoa RK72 by his adult size, scar on right cheek, "bubbles" in the skin of right neck area and male belly. He has nubs of two tags on the dorsal surface.
Marilyn now believes he is the seal with RK90 on Saturday and possibly Seal #8 on Rabbit Island on Sunday.
