06/26/2020 Friday Act-With-Care (94) Monk Seal Dailies.

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Melody, Team T&D, posse pal Vicki and swimmer Nicole.  There is a lot of activity to cover so I'll be brief and get to the fun part (pictures and video).

In yesterday's news department Team T&D did Ka'ena Point. They found weaner N4 Kai hanging out when R330 Squinty hauled out and spent time with the kid.
On their way out they spotted a bright green RL98 Lina resting. Apparently they missed her on their way in. They got to witness an adult albatross feeding its chick.

Also in yesterdays news department Nicole L was snorkeling on the west side when she spotted a curious seal came close to shoreline. Nicole watched in the water keeping her distance. Initially she thought the tag was N17, but another email she mentioned it looked more like tag N15. In that case it would be Kalani RN14/15, Nicole sent video for us to enjoy!

Team Billand checking out west side between 7 and 8:30 this morning and was thrilled to find Kekoa Alii RK72. He is massive, fat and healthy. It's good to have him back.
They spotted R3CX Nalu foraging off shore. He then came in looked around, hauled out onto waterfront rocks and then left.

At the outfall Team Billand spotted Kaale RH32 stealing fish as usual. They spotted a second seal by the jetty and was able to ID RL20 Kalua. He was doing 6 minute dives and foraging for some time.

Team Billand also spotted a UU foraging but could not get an ID. They watched for two hours but just didn't have anything to go on.

Team Billand's last find of the day was two seals, RF28 was with Lei Ola RH48.  Lei Ola has started her molt and it is moving along quickly.
RF28 was close by her and she was annoyed, she barked at him, but he just stayed close. They noticed he has a small cut on the right side of his face, nothing serious.

Melody decided to come back and visit with Nohea N2 since her visit was cut short earlier this week.  Nohea did not disappoint, she was in the tide pools floating around and playing with just about any thing she could get her mouth on.  After flipping stuff in the air, she went out for a good long swim, and eventually returning for a good long nap.

Posse Pal Vicki got lucky today while on the north shore. She came across Holokai, he is looking healthy and happy.
