06/02/2020 Tuesday Safer-At-Home (70) Monk Seal Dailies

Aloha good people, I hope you are all safe during this crazy time in our world.

Today was a slow sighting day on Oahu Team Billand only reported one seal. This is so unusual, but Barbara did say the waves on the west side were huge.
They found R3CX Nalu before 8 am this morning. He was laying on his side just chilling on the rocks.  Team Billand didn't stay long as they had an appointment but when they returned he was still there.
This time the waves were huge and washing over him. They kept coming as he struggled to stay but the last set knocked him about and took him out to sea.
They watched for a while and did see him off shore with a turtle doing 5 minute dives. Finally Team Billand called it a day.

In other news the Kauai Seals Blog posted a good story about the Kauai to Ka'ena Point connection. We've had a lot of Kauai critters show up here over the years and many of them made Oahu their home.
ENJOY the read !
