Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:37 to 2:56 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
On the back of the Lanikai side of LPB were two seals:
Unknown Adult: sub-adult to adult size, sandy ventral, no info on tags or sex.
In the middle of LPB was a seal that Marilyn believes to be RK24 Bruno: adult size, light gray male belly, two red tags and scar on lower lip.
Down from the 1BS was an Adult Male: adult size, about 50% molted, new medium gray male belly and at least one red tag on RRF.
At 2:00 pm a seal hauled out about 50 feet Lanikai side of 2BS. This seal is labeled Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, new darker gray coat, male belly, unsure about tags. This seal had two parallel lines behind its RFF. She couldn't tell if they were scars or if the fur was ruffled.
Marilyn made a quick stop this morning and got to see RT62 hauling out. Marilyn called the hotline.
Team R&B made their way out to pokai. They were happy the made it out to find RH76 Kala. She was alone on the edge of the rocks.
Next they headed over to rest-camp. It took forever to find a seal this morning. Then they spotted one foraging. There was RL20 Kalua trying to find fish, seems the school that was there is gone now.
Then they spotted another seal who was just swimming alone. They ID'd RH48 Lei Ola and she wasn't having any luck finding fish.
While out they spotted a seal from afar at Makaha. They headed over to find R3CX Nalu resting on shore alone. He was rolling about over and over in the sand. They did see his signature natural bleach spot on the left side of his head. He was being very cute while resting peacefully.
They also saw a very large turtle land on the shore at Makaha.
Lastly they headed back to pokai for a recheck. Kala RH76 was no longer there. BUT...... Team R&B scanned the ocean and out popped a whale!! This is their first sighting of the season.
