Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:42 to 2:15 pm and there were two seals seen during that time.
Initially in the LPB surge channel entrance was an Adult Male: adult size, tannish brown male belly, unsure about tags, prominent CC scars on left and right shoulders, on the right mid-dorsal and rear right side. There may also be a CC scar on the mid left side. Marilyn couldn't come up with a positive ID, hopefully someone will ID these markers.
At 1:07 pm, a Sub-adult Female hauling out near the 3BS: small sub-adult size, older coat with green female belly and two red tags.
Team R&B started at pokai where they spotted a seal. It was RH76 Kala resting peacefully alone. Team R&B spoke with a fisher near by, advised him about the seal. He did move and caught a big beautiful fish called Moana Kali.
They saw a seal foraging who they ID'd as R3CX Nalu. He was going for broke pigging out. They noted they did not see him stealing fish, and did not hear the fishers swearing so it appears he was getting his own food.
Next they found RM31 Kai at kahe. He was already at his spot on the rocks, alone and snoozing on the tocks. They did a recheck in the late afternoon and he was still there.
At the outfall they spotted a seal foraging. They couldn't make an ID, other than it had two tags and was an adult. It was reported as an Unknown Adult.
They took the ride to check out kermits reef. They were happy to onceagain find the little cutie RT63 Kaiwa. She was facing the opposite way and seem to be agitated. At first they thought maybe she was hooked, as she kept rubbing her mouth. They did not see any sign of a hook, maybe something she ate.
She turned a lot and looked around, finally falling a sleep. Team R&B spent over an hour making sure she was okay.
Last but not least Team R&B got to enjoy the whales breaching over and over. They were far out near the KoOlina area, but still enjoyable.
