Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕
On this last day of November Team R&B had a frustrating day. People out too close to the seals, having difficulties IDing seals. I'm sorry they had a bad day, but I do appreciate their being out there and sharing with the rest of us.
Their first sighting was RL20 foraging in the bay, then the kid was outside of the bay. Also out there today was RG28 Lefty foraging front of the bay.
At another west side location they found Kekoa Alii RK72. He was high up on the rocks snoozing.
They headed over to tracks and found R407 Kawika was alone. There was a zone and they made some adjustments. Team R&B stayed around for a bit and looked to see if another seal would come in. There was just R407, so they headed out.
When they were at the other site, of course they saw people running to the water with camera. There was another seal that met up with R407. They could not figure out who this critter was. They could see people getting in the water to take photos of the seal.
They drove back to the site, but it was too late, now there were no seals. Team R&B stuck around to see if they would return, but they did not. Bummer!
Lastly looking at another site they watched whales and dolphins in the water.
They found a seal hidden in the rocks at another spot. IT was so hard with the glare of the sun and the seal being hidden. The seal was molting, Team R&B believe it is RN14 Kalani.
