Todays dailies are brought to you by Team T&D and Team R&B💕
Team T&D met up with Lesley and they hiked out to the point. Their first seal find was RL98 Lina hauled out way up. Most likely she was keeping dry from the big surf.
While finding seals is always a big deal and a treat, today the big sighting of the day was the first Laysan Albatross of the season.
Their next flipper find was Kami RL74. She often finds interesting places to haul out not to mention her positions.
Lastly at the end of their day they found R330 Squinty. And down at the end of the beach was KG54 Huaka'i, sadly with a washed up water bottle.
Team R&B stopped at the bay and spotted two seals foraging first in the bay then outside the bay area. They were able to ID Lei Ola RH48 and Nalu R3CX. They were so far out they couldn't get a decent photo. They left the area until later in the day.
On their afternoon check they found Lei Ola still out in the bay foraging. They found Nalu R3CX hauled out on the rocks. They were also treated to a pod of dolphins.
Team R&B headed over to another west side sight and found R407 snoozing, to the right was R28 also in snooze mode. Then they watched as RL20 hauled in and he made his way over with R407. R407 was cool and let the kid stay.
Next stop was at KoOlina and they saw a seal in a zone. There were people around some getting close and the seal was agitated. There was da Benny RE74, while checking him out they saw a wound on his left chest near fore flipper.
First they thought he was molting, but as he moved about they couldsee skin dangling. It looks like an injury and it would have been nice to have more time to look at it. But people getting too close, on shore and in the water caused Benny to leave.
Arriving at another west side beach they found the bosom buddies hanging out on the same shore. There was RN14 Kalani and RH32 Kaale resting, and no antics.
Team R&B last find of the day was RM31 Kai. Always good to see him and all his cuteness.
