11/27/2021 Saturday Monk Seal Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:20 to 12:30 and there was only one seal on island.
The seal was just down from the 3BS and mostly obscured by waterfront rocks. Marilyn is labeling the seal an U/A: adult size with a new coat. This is likely the recently molted adult male who was near the same spot yesterday. There were fresh seal tracks coming down from the dunes around the 3BS.

Team R&B hurried over to the outfall this morning and only found one seal foraging. They ID'd Kekoa
Alii RK72.
While observing RK72, they saw two seals at track with five signs around them. They had to leave to pick up junior sealette.
They returned later and found Kawika R407 and Kaale RH32 outside the zone.  Interestingly there were ropes along with the signs.  Team R&B gathered everything and set up a new zone around the two boys.

Next they headed over to the bay and found RL20 foraging. The kid was going for broke, having a good time for himself.
They also found RH76 Kala was snoozing alone on the rocks. She was well hidden and resting peaceful.

They found RG28 Lefty at another west side location. Seems there are more homeless folks in the area. Lefty was in the same spot as yesterday.

Team R&B's last find today was da Benny RE74. He was galumphing down to the water but stopped and rested. Benny was on his belly, so they couldn't see his wound.
Benny was content and no one was around to bother him.
