11/13/2021 Saturday Monk Seal Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

Team R&B enjoyed a beautiful sunrise with their breakfast. They were looking for seals in the bay and did see one further out foraging. They ran out of time with plans to return.
On their recheck they didn't see any seals foraging but did spot on hauled out. They made their way over and found R3CX on shore with two signs up. He seemed agitated, flipping from right to left, galumphing up higher up.  He was near the restcamp area and there were a couple of folks on the wall, they weren't sure if something happened or he was just restless.

Their next find was their beloved Benny RE74 on shore, snuggled up against the wall snoozing. His wound was visible and looks to be healing. He seems fine, and probably going to molt soon.

Once again checking out tracks they found three male seals on shore. A woman was there talking with a volunteer about the seals. There was Lefty RG28, Kaale RH32, and Kawika R407.  It's been interesting watching this group of males hanging out together.
They made a second visit later in the day and were surprised to find RN14 Kalani had joined the group.
The four boys were all lined up on shore, there were no signs. The volunteer was no longer on sight.

As Team R&B were driving along the coast, they spotted a fat seal on shore. The pulled over to find two folks sitting there watching RL42. They told Team R&B that she had just hauled up about 20 minutes before. Team R&B took the time to share information about RL42 Leia.

Team R&B did the ka'ena west trek and didn't see any seals.

Lastly Team R&B checked out paradise cove but didn't see any seals. A woman asked them if they were
looking for the seal? The woman then explained the seal was just run off by a big german shepard that was running loose by its owner. The woman explained she had yelled out at the owner but it was too late the dog ran the seal off. She had photos and Team R&B were able to ID Aukai RL12.  The woman pointed out the owner and the dog. Team T&B thanked them for sharing the photos and the story. This whole thing took place five minutes before Team R&B arrived.
