Marilyn started her morning checking a few spots along the east side. She spotted a seal in the water and watched for about an hour. She was able to get some tags and confirm this juvenile was RK24 Wawamalu aka Bruno born in 2018 OR RP24 Mohala born in 2021.
Marilyn is reasonably sure its RK24. He was doing 5 to 7 minute dives. He has a scar on the right side about 1/3 of the way forward of the rear flippers. Marilyn checked in with Gamma Gayle who confirmed RK24 does have a scar on the right side.
Next stop was to the pier where Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:50 to 2:05 and there were threeseals seen on island today.
When she first arrived an A/M was near one channels at LPB and he entered the water at 11:55. Marilyn saw him at least once in the water fronting 1BS.
At the entrance to SRI was the same unknown J/M that Marilyn has been seeing recently. Juvenile size, old coat with lots of green, yellowish male belly with no tags. He stayed in the same place during her observation time.
About 12:28 Marilyn noticed a small seal had hauled out between 1BS and 2BS. She believes this to be PO4/215 Manana. Weaner to juvenile size, light female belly, one tag on her RRF and no NB on her LFF. A few moments after she hauled out the A/M (from earlier) galumphed up to her. They had some brief interactions, but both settled down to snooze. The A/M; adult size, old coat, dark male belly, one tag on RRF.
Team R&B found RL20 Kalua was foraging outside of the bay where there were many boats. RL20 stayed out of the bay and then surprised Team R&B by landing while they were still there. They could see all the little scars from all the snags from hooks. (poor kid)
A second seal foraging in the bay and fighting with RL20 on the outside of the bay, was R3CX Nalu. Later he came up on the rocks and is looking good especially with his new coat. How nice to see these boys hauled out.
When Team R&B arrived at tracks to find three seals on shore. There were two signs up and volunteer on site. RN14 Kalani was the first seal, next was RH32 Kaale and to the far right was RG28 Lefty.
Lastly they once again found RM31 Kai in the same spot. He was resting barely moving making it difficult to get the ID photo. This little dude has found a safe spot for himself.
