11/02/2021 (part 2) Lesley's Ka'ena Update

We saw a couple of seals on Sunday and Monday. One of them was R330 Squinty and the other I would guess R407 Kawika because of location. But that as we know doesn't count and goes on the database as U/U

Yesterday coming back from town just after sunset and still some light left I saw a seal down the beach. I went down to ID and found RN58 Luana and further down near the waterline KG54 Huaka'i back from her West side visit.

This morning I was out at first light to go check the BIG swell rolling in. Wow the power of nature.
In the seal world I documented R407 Kawika with RL98 Lina on a small narrow stretch of

sand. On our second check they were cornered on some rocks and would have to move shortly due to the big swell.
I was trying to ID a U/U seal in the water far away when I turned to talk to a visitor that was going to go down to close to the water's edge without knowing the set were washing the beaches.
Just then a small seal swam out of the foams and up the beach. It was little RL74 Kami exhausted from her swim. She had to move up several times more while we were there and surely more after we left.
We saw a Brown Noody, Red Footed Booby, WTSH Chicks, Bulbuls and more
Today was one of those days you just want to sit and watch all that energy, but duty called, and we moved on.   More soon 🌺
