Melody was on the westside today and immediately found R407 Kawika on the beach. He is looking good since he just molted and showing off a beautiful new coat. He was alone for a while and then first joined by Lefty RG28. A few minutes later Kaale RH32 arrived.
Initially they were all resting, but that didn't last long. The fun was about to begin. They started on the the sand and then took their rough housing into the water. They were totally entertaining.
They never came back up on shore as a group. Kawika did come back to his spot later on. Unfortunately he didn't stay long as he was bothered by individuals who got too close, so he left.
Team R&B started their day at the bay in the early morning. They spotted R3CX Nalu and RL20foraging. Neither one of them had landed. When Team R&B did a check later there were no seals hauled out.
They did find their beloved Benny by the wall and he is 100% done with his molt.
Team R&B met up with Melody and arrived to see Kawika, Lefty and Kaale in the water playing. Of course butthead Kaale was playing rough. He is a big boy, maybe he just can't help himself. :-)
Team R&B left the site and headed over to another area where they were watching the dolphins. From afar they could see a seal landing at tracks which looked like R407.
On their second check of the site they discovered Lefty RG28 had landed and was resting on the rocks. Guess he escaped from Kaale.
Returning to the bay where they started the morning they found RH76 Kala on the rocks to the left side.
Also there was RL20 and he has ANOTHER hook, this time on the right side of his mouth. He was resting just fine. They couldn't get a visual of his left side to see the other hook. He was resting without any signs of thrashing or discomfort.
Lastly to end their day they found little RP30 Puka resting on the rocks. They were delighted to find him. They could see his tags but could not see his right eye.
