Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:00 to 2:30 and there were three seals on island during her viewing session.
Alone out on LPB was and U/U: subadult to adult size, newer coat with light ventral area. Marilyn wasn't sure about gender or any tags.
Not far from each other directly down from the 1BS were: U/SA: subadult size, newer coat with a CC scar on right side rear flippers. This is possibly the same unknown subadult that has been hanging around.
There was an A/M: adult size, old coat with green in the rear flipper area, one tag seen during flipperflex. Marilyn is willing to make a familiar wager of betting one cat that this is the same adult male with an old coat that she has been seeing.
Team R&B found three seals at the outfall. They were foraging very close to the laynets that had been set. This is never easy to watch and I know Team R&B find this very upsetting. Out there today having a feast was RH32 Kaale, RL12 Aukai and RN14 Kalani.
They stuck around for hours watching to I'm sure make sure the seals were okay. Just before heading out they saw that Kaale had left and was hauling out at tracks alone.
From the outfall to the bay to watch another two seals. Only Team R&B was surprised and happy to find two seals hauled out on the rocks. There was RL20 Kalua and R3CX Nalu just resting in the hot sun. They hung out for a while to observe these two.
When they were leaving area they heard yelling and went back to check. Both seal had scurried off the rocks due to some people that had just arrived. Both RL20 and R3CX headed straight to the inside of the bay to forage. Unfortunately there were three boats and some paddlers.
Team R&B did Ka'ena west and found no seals. They did however find a little seal on their way. The little was was RM31 Kai. Along the way they found some body surfers taking advantage of the waves.
