Team R&B started their day arriving at tracks and saw three seals. Then there suddenly was a fourth looking for a spot. It was RN14 Kalani who galumphed up past R407 Kawika. Kawika was a bit upset, maybe because he's molting. He barked at Kalani, but the two of them soon settled.
RN14 moved in the middle of R407, RG28 Lefty and his bosom buddy RH32 Kaale. Very cool having the boyz hanging out together. Team R&B hung around for a while, and were grateful during their watch no one was there to bother them.
Team R&B headed over to the outfall and watching scanning the surface and a seal came up. They rules out any of the four boys, it wasn't Aukai, so who is this critter? They see the scar on the right side of the face and bumps on his side back left. They were shocked and delighted to see Kekoa Alii RK72. He's back and he looks great!
On the west side they found some signs up so they went to see who if anything was on shore. There was Da Benny RE74. They weren't able to get a good view of his wound, especially since his coat is dark, and he's full of sand.
Team R&B ended their day with another awesome find. They spotted one seal from afar and when they drove over and walked out there was RM31 Kai and his brother RP30 Puka! Both look to be in good condition, and they are TOO DARN CUTE!
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:45 to 2:35 and there were four seals on island today.
She was surprised when she first started viewing she did not see the molting adult male. Turns out he was there and initially hiding up in the dunes in the 1BS area. He ultimately made his wat to the beach.
A/M: adult size, male belly, and one tag on RRF. He looks to be about 60% molted.
RK37: she looks adult size although she was born in 2018, newer coat, female belly, two tags and a nb on her lower left side.
SA/M: subadult size, newer coat, light male belly and two tags.
Between the 1BS and 2BS was a juvenile. J/F: smaller juvenile size, newer coat, light female belly, two tags and no nb on her LFF. Marilyn thinks this is the same J/F that she saw on Saturday.
