May 8, 2019 Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Marilyn and Team T&D.

This morning on her way to work, Marilyn checked in at Sandy beach and found R016 Right Spot, seems she had hauled out sometime yesterday.
Right Spot is looking healthy, and her shark bite scar seems fully healed.  She's look quite full figured and is most likely pregnant, but probably isn't due until later this summer.

Team Billand didn't find any critters until after 11 am, when they got to the a westside beach.  The critter was coming in just as they arrived.  It was Lei Ola RH48 came in, took a breather in the shallows, then came in on her ledge to nap. She is looking healthy, nice coat not many markers and most importantly NO hooks.

Team Billand did a lot of searching but were coming up empty, they even did the Ka'ena West trek and nothing. So before they turned in for the day just about 5 they went back to check on Lei Ola. To their delight there was another seal with Lei Ola RH48.
It was Ka'ale RH32 with her, these two got something going on and and their only three years old, ah young love!
Ka'ale was making advances, she barked at him, but at the same time she tolerated him. Ka'ale seemed tired, so he just lay next to her after he made his signature head butts to her tummy.
It was getting late so Team Billand called it a day, and said farewell to the young lovers.

Team T&D were the heavy hitters today. They trekked out to
Ka'ena Point and their first find was RW02 PvKauai at Hidden Beach, and he was still there on their way out but further up on the beach due to rising tide.
The next critter they found was Ka'ena in a tide pool.  Then there was RIP RR70 at back beach but just as they got there a wave washed over him and he swam around to the main pool, hung out for a bit and then left.
Last find was R366 on the outer reefs, one of his favorite spots.
