March 22, 2025 Saturday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:14 to 1:47 pm and there were two seals seen during that time.
The two seals were about 30 feet Makapuu of the 3BS.
Adult Male: adult size, light tan male belly and two red tags.
A short distance further Makapuu was an Adult Female: adult size, older coat mottled tan female belly, scar on upper chest/lower neck, two red tags.

Team R&B arrived at pokai to find three seals foraging off the jetty area. They ID'd RL20 Kalua, R3CX Nalu and RM31 Kai.  They saw the seals jump up in the air as if they met up with something, this actually happened twice.
They stayed in the area for a little bit. They heard a seal close by, but couldn't see it at first. Then they saw the movement. It was RM31 Kai who is hooked. They saw the line trailing and swivel seen. Kai kept raising his head high up and moaning like they do. Team R&B had stayed for quite awhile hoping the others would land, but they didn't at this time.

Over at kahe they were surprised to see RG28 Lefty hauled out on the rocks. He was alone and there were two men walking on the rocks below.  Team R&B did see another seal swim by, they aren't sure but think it might be RH32 Kaale.

Next they headed over to Nimitz and there were lots of people out in the area, along with three dogs.
There was one seal out on the reef, the little cutie RT62 Kaiwa. One fisher was right by her, he was aware of her and passed by her. RT62 wasn't happy and postured. The fisher moved to the sand with his boys.
They saw spouts and then dorsals. The whales were out putting on a show with tails thrashing.  There were three whales seen by the buoys.

Team R&B made their way back to pokai to check on the seals. They found that R3CX Nalu had finally hauled out and was looking good and healthy.  RL20 Kalua  was also hauled out resting.
All was good for about 45 minutes and then a few young boys arrived. They headed straight down to where RL20 was resting. They saw the seal and....  lets just say RL20 was upset and took off.  Such a shame.
