Back to our regular course of events on Oahu (although given the threat of the hurricane, nothing is normal today) well, except for Ka'ale RH32 who per usual showed up at the all you can eat buffet. Team Billand went out to the outfall, and there he was front row seat foraging and chomping on breakfast.
Despite the warnings the fishermen came out and were having a successful day. Waves were already getting big at the outfall and the men had to run to higher rocks as the waves were crashing. The guys were enjoying themselves and so was Ka'ale. At one point Barbara noticed a surfers' dive fin, and so did Ka'ale, so he proceeded to mouth it, played with it for a bit and then lost interest. (it was not attached to the diver). Team Billand stayed for about four hours.
Next: Lesley's Ka'ena Update: and she didn't have to go far :-)
NO monitoring today... they just come to me ()
Went down at dawn to check the beach there was a very light mist.
Later I want back and 2 seals were freshly hauled out
RN58 "Luana" and further down RK36 "Kauai Kolohe". Hope they get all the rest they need before going back to sea during the storm (??or not)
I went down an hour ago and they were still there. It's nearly 4pm and it has just started raining big drops and barely any wind (yet). Be safe all
RH32 Ka'ale
this fish is a little rubbery
Bring it on Lane!!!
