In yesterday's news Melody sent a video of Squinty in cruise mode. So grab some popcorn sit back and enjoy watching R330 cruising.
Team Billand was at the all you can eat breakfast buffet to find their favorite two year old was already foraging. Also out at the site was a few of the NOAA folks and volunteer Christina. Ka'ale disappeared so Team Billand left to check other sites.
They returned about 3 hours later and Ka'ale RH32 was back, foraging. They stayed for a bit and headed out, they never saw him haul out today,
I know Team Billand has been worried lately and the lack of presence of Miss Lei Ola gives us all concern. Well that changed today!! They spotted this beautiful girl on a west side. She is looking good, healthy weights, no new markers, and still with that nasty hook. Barbara noted she isn't as fat as Ka'ale, but truth be told I don't think any of them eat as much as this little dude.
Team Billand did the Ka'ena West trek and came up empty and to add insult to injury got rained on. After returned and heading out they spotted a critter, turns out to be RL42 Leia. She was very still resting on the rocks, no one around to bother her. Her nice new shiny coat, and tag visible. They did not stay long to keep her spot safe.
As a side note, here is the link to some swimmers who were fined for pursuing hawaiian spinner dolphins. Nice to hear there is enforcement out there keeping our marine mammals safe.
