Team Billand out at "Ka'ale's Kitchen" the outfall, and upon arrival he is there doing his thing. After a short time he disappeared for a bit. NOAA's Team was out at the site again Adam & Jackie, a little later Officers Paul & Ted arrived, and then Volunteer Kristina. Ka'ale had quite the audience today.
He returns hanging out by the jetty, he came into the outfall and was catching his own fish, He went back out by the Jetty eating more fish possibly a stick fish or maybe an eel. He was getting a belly full for sure. Team Billand left after a couple of hours, Ka'ale remained foraging in the outfall.
Next find was Benny RE74 at a west side beach, he was alone on the rocks snoozing. He is really green, nice and robust, tags showing. Looking to be healthy and ready to find some females to make more babies. They checked in after the Ka'ean West trek he was still there, being washed over by the high tide coming in.
On their Ka'ena West trek at the 20, they spotted the lovely RL42 Leia. As Barb was taking a photo she sees another seal with her. To her surprise it was RN14 Kalani, they looking very cozy together. They are very close in age, so it's a whole new generation of possible pups in the making. Kalani next to RL42, but then she started to get irritated and barked at him a few time and moved away a bit.
Just before leaving RL42 Leia crossed over the rocks to get higher up away from Kalani RN14. But he wasn't having it, and galumphed right on over to her, they both settled in. Team Billand had to leave because their own "puppies" at home were getting into trouble.
LOOK MA no cavities
stick or eel?
