Team Billand headed out first thing this morning to the all you can eat seafood buffet at the outfall. Upon arrival they spotted two seals foraging and getting along just fine. Took Team Billand a little bit to get the ID of the larger seal. To their surprise it turned out to be RIP RR70. He was ID'd by the mid marker, scar over his left eye.
RIP was gone around 8:00 am but Ka'ale continued to hang out at the outfall. Ka'ale did go after one of the live bait, but the fisherman pulled it out fast before he could get it. Man oh Man Ka'ale gave him stink eye. Team Billand left to check other beaches.
Stopping at a bleach close to the outfall to their surprise RIP RR70 was resting on the right side on the rocks. He is a large male, nice girth, his tags and applied bleach number showing.
On their recheck they got another surprise, now there was Kalani RN14 back from Moloaki and looking big and fat, and plenty green.
Heading out to Ka'ena West they did not find any critters. But they did see a critter at a nearby beach. The seal was partially submerged, sleeping. Waves were coming in and moving her about. As a result she moved higher on the rocks. They ID'd Leia RL42.
Melody and her friend Kim went up to the North Shore and found Holokai RG40. They hung out with him for about an hour and then headed out. Waves were coming in and hitting him and he made his way further up the beach as they were leaving. She called him into the hotline.
