Team Billand's first find today was NOT Ka'ale but on their way to the outfall they made a stop and found Kekoa Alii RK72, hauled out on the high rocks. When they checked back later he was still there and getting covered by the big waves and was now on the lower rocks. Wave after wave got to him and he slowly washed off the rocks and he was gone.
After leaving Kekoa Team Billand headed over to the outfall and as usual found Ka'ale RH32 at the outfall near the rocks, foraging. He often goes to the same corner to go after something, but never comes up with anything, unless he eats it before he surfaces. He did manage to catch a huge Akule from outside the outfall, brought it into the outfall to gobble it up. This actually impressed a couple of the fishermen. They left Ka'ale at 8:15 and never made it back to check on him.
Team Billand did the Ka'ena West trek, but did not see any seals, they did spot a huge pod of dolphins until the boats came in. They saw the black noddies on their way in, but they were gone on their way out.
When Team Billand passed by one of the Leeward Beaches they spotted something on the rocks, so they made a U-Turn and found RL42 Leia on the rocks. She was alone today, completely dry and looking brown. She may be ready or close to ready to molt, but because of her position they couldn't see her belly. They didn't stay long as to not attract others. She was peaceful, so it was easy to let her be.
