Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:50 to 3:00 and was joined by UH Graduate Student Kirby Parnell and intern Penelope. Their only sighting was Mom RF34 Pua and P01. About 1:40 Pua and pup entered the water and swam around for an hour. They hauled hauled close to where they entered and that was that.
They were fortunate to watch a sailboat regatta coming around Makapuu traversing between RI and
Team R&B started early this morning and drove out to Pokai Bay area. They saw two seals, but it was too dark to make any ID's and they had to head out.
Next stop they found RG28 Lefty and RN14 Kalani on shore. They were at a distance so they called the hotline to report them right away. When they got to the site they got a positive IDs. They stayed to keep an eye on them as people were arriving. They did their best to keep people back but as usual everyone wanted to get their pictures. Team R&B left after a while to check out other sites.
They made another visit to a west side location and there were lots of fishing poles in the area. They did find one seal on lower rocks RL70 Leina. They checked closely to make sure there wasn't any fishing lines in or around her.
