Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B, Lesley and Marilyn. Lesley's Ka'ena update is from Friday and is part two of the dailies.
Team R&B looked everywhere today and it was one of those rare times when they only found one seal. Actually it was junior sealette who spotted the little green seal right away. She pointed out to grandma who was thrilled to have those young eyes helping out.
The little green critter was RL30 Kalua snoozing away from his old spot. This is a good spot for him to stay hidden and rest. For their entire observation the little guy just slept.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island after she hiked Ka'ena Point with Lesley this morning. There were six seals on Rabbit Island between 2:45 and 4:10.
All six seals were in a group on LPB. Since most of the seal were behind RF34, she didn't have much to go on as far as IDing the seals. Initially P01 was behind Pua RF34, but later P01 moved to where the pup could be seen. P01 continues to get bigger and its belly is getting lighter in color.
The other four seals are labled as: UU1 unknown #1 completely behind RF34. UU2 unknown #2 possible subadult size, very light belly. UU3 unknown #3 juvenile to subadult size, older coat. UF unknown juvenile to subadult size, yellowish female belly.
