04/22/2021 Thursday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕

They started early morning and found RL20 Kalua in the shallows heading over to his resting place. He galumphed up and stayed there snoozing.  There were some dogs in the area that began to bark so they left to not draw attention to him.

From there Team R&B headed over to tracks, where one of the surfer friends was out earlier and told them a large seal was at tracks, but some woman was close by her and the seal left. He made mentioned how slowly the seal was moving. Team R&B kept searching the waters and finally a head popped up out of the water. They ID'd Aukai RL12 with her scar on right side of her head. That was the last they saw of her.

Kalani RN14 was seen heading towards the area, Team R&B warned people on the shore line to move

back and let the seal haul up, not to chase it. Sure enough Kalani showed up and hauled out. They brought out the poles and started to put them out so people would listen.  They called the hotline and waited spending their time educating the people on shore.  A volunteer arrived, so they updated her on Kalani and their sighting of Aukai. 

While they were with RN14 they got a call from a friend about a seal at Paradise Cove, so they headed over. When they arrived there was RW22 Kolohe on the rocks once again snoozing. The hotline already knew he was there. As Team R&B were trying to get their ID photos a man walked right up in front of Kolohe to get his instagram photos.

Then last part of their day they had a nice surprise when they came across Lei Ola RH48 and she was with RH32 Kaale. They were both snoozing in a tiny pond together peacefully.
