Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B and Lesley. Lesley's Ka'ena update is part two of the dailies.
Full disclosure: I had viewed Rabbit Island today and saw a total of five seals. There was an unfortunate loss of the photos due to my brain not cooperating with the rest of me. I will leave it at that.
In short there were two seals by the 1BS, one was an adult unknown male, and the other was an unknown subadult, both had tags. Mom Pua RGF34 and P01 were in their usual spot by the 3BS. There was one nursing session, still no water sessions observed. Then on the far rocky beach to the right was a young juvenile seal with a yellowish belly. I am pretty sure it was a female.
Meanwhile Team R&B did lots of searching and came up empty. Finally they headed west and found RL42 Leina on the rocks snoozing alone.
Team R&B saw volunteers running down a beach on the far west side telling people to get out of the water. Then Team R&B saw a seal pop up above the surface and realized it was Aukai RL12, swimming along with a man snorkeling in the water. Unfortunately Aukai took off and they never saw her again for the day.
They spotted a seal up on the rocks, who turned out to be RL98. She was totally dry, unfortunately there were people around on the rocks by the seal, they decided not to stay.
