04/19/2021 Monday Monk Seal Dailies

Today's dailies are brought to you by Team R&B💕.  I did update yesterday's post with a couple of ID's to Marilyn's sightings.

While at a west side location they saw an adult seal passing and they were pretty sure it was RN14 Kalani. A few minutes later they saw Kalani RN14 landed at tracks.  They called the hotline, then stayed with him about hour and then left.

Team R&B headed off to another west side location and saw an adult seal laying on his side. He had a beautiful clean newly molted. Finally they got a glimpse of his tag it RN44/45 Rocky's kid from Kauai. This is the first time they have seen him with a clean coat. He barely has any scars just the left face scar. He has a natural bleach on his butt area and a natural bleach on right side. Needless to say Team R&B were thrilled!

Team R&B first passed and got a glimpse of a seal's hind flippers, so they hurried over and found a little green seal snoozing on its side. They were able to read the tags which showed RL20 Kalua who hadn't been seen for a bit. He is looking very very green, there were no hooks or lines seen. He was in a deep sleep he hardly moved at all.

Team R&B pulled over when they saw a HMAR truck with flashing lights. They're not sure what was happening but while looking they spotted two seal swimming towards Makua area. They were able to ID RL42 Leina who is very large trying to get away from the male. They could not get a good look or photo of the male but the two just kept swimming and fighting.  They did get close to a boat to the delight of the passengers, but the seals swam away out of sight.
