Today's dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B 💕.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island between 11:15 and 1:15. Initially she did not see Pua RF34 and P01, but there were four other seals on island. Finally at 11:45 she got her first glimpse of Mama Pua and a few minutes later she saw the kid. Mom and P01 stayed near the waterfront rocks for a nursing session and then disappeared into a tidepool. Marilyn did see the pup's flipper peak above the rocks a few times, but for the most part they were hidden.
Out on the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB was an UAM, adult size, gray male belly and unsure bout tags. He disappeared sometime around 12:20.
On LPB was a SAF, subadult to juvenile size, lighter female belly and two tags.
On waterfront rocks about 30 feet Makapuu side of 1BS was a SAM, subadult size, lighter male belly and two tags. This seal entered the water about 12:18 and at 12:24 joined the SAF on LPB. They stayed near each other for the rest of Marilyn's viewing.
On the waterfront rocks near SRI was an unknown adult to subadult size, light female belly and two tags (UAF).
Team R&B did all their regular checks, finally at a west side location they found four seals. RL20 Kalua on lower rocks and he looks to be doing good. His little one inch cut is still opened and pink, but healing. R3CU came up next, he galumphed to high rocks when Team R&B heard another seal barking on the rocks. There was RL70 Leina well hidden and letting R3CU she was there. Lastly RH76 Kala came in next to water front rocks. All seals were resting and were okay.
On their second visit to the site there were two more seals that had arrived. RH32 Kaale was next to RL20 Kalua. Kaale is one big fat male. Then there was Lefty RG28 who was next to RH76 Kala at the front rocks.
Team R&B took a ride out to another west side spot and watched as people were jumping from the rocks. Initially there were no signs a of a seal until they looked to the other end and spotted a cute little green seal. It was sweet little M31 Kai. Team R&B did their best to not bring attention to him, they got the pictures, made an ID and then left.
Last stop on their way home they found two seals together enjoying a peaceful sleep. The male was so large they thought it was a female, but no it was RN14 Kalani, IDd by CC scar under belly. The female is looking quite large as well, it was RL42 Leia. She was resting comfortably on the warm rocks.
