November 27, 2024 Wednesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn  and Team R&B๐Ÿ’•

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:05 pm and there were two seals seen during that time.
On the rock flats next to SRI was an Adult Male: adult size, dark older coat, dark male belly, unsure about tags.
Out in the RRB surge channel was RP24 Mohala: sub-adult size, newer coat, light gray female belly, at least one tag and a nb on the LFF.
There may have been another smaller seal in the same surge channel, but Marilyn didn't have enough information to say for sure.

Team R&B's first find was at Makaha. They were happy to find RP28 Wakea again, and this is where they originally met up with him. He was alone and resting peacefully. They spotted dog prints and foot prints around him. They were just about to leave when they heard two women approaching. They were walking over to RP28.  One woman bent over him and Team R&B heard a man's voice telling the woman to move away from the seal.  This made them so happy that someone else was out there keeping RP28 safe.

Heading over to yoks they found RG28 Lefty basically in the same spot. He was alone trying to get some rest and his molt appears to be about 5%.  The hook is visible, with line trailing as he galumphed up the shore to get away from the surf.
When they left all was okay. But looking back from afar there were six people who stopped to play in the sand. They watched as the boy in the blue outfit walked up to RG28. Nothing happened so the boy
jumped up and down stamping his feet.  RG28 postured and barked at the kid, who jumped back in shock. Mom and Dad kept walking.

Heading over to Kahe Team R&B were thrilled to find three males together resting in peace. RM31 Kai was with his brother RP30 Puka along with R617. They were all snoozing. All three of them have molted recently showing off their clean coats looking quite handsome.
Team R&B made an interesting note; they observed all three males have scars on the right side of their faces.

And the day wouldn't be complete without seeing the amazing dolphins at play. They left when the boats arrived, but at least Team R&B got to enjoy them for a little bit.
